Full-Time Position
Hope Ambassador Program Manager — Bilingual
Position Summary: The role of the Program Manager is vital to the growth of the mission and vision of The Single Mom KC (TSMKC). The Hope Ambassador Program Manager oversees the coordination and administration of all aspects of the Hope Ambassador program, primarily focusing on leading Hope Ambassador volunteers to walk alongside single mom clients and ensure connection with community resources. Additionally, this position focuses on developing and maintaining community resource partnerships throughout the Kansas City Metro. The Program Manager reports to the Program Director.
Essential Duties + Responsibilities
1. Program Management
- Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Hope Ambassador program
- Collaborate with both staff and volunteer team members to effectively run programs, including the delegation of tasks to volunteers and volunteer teams
- Conduct ongoing program evaluations and assessments to ensure the programs meet annual goals and strategic plan objectives
- Foster relationships with single moms
- Support the Clothed with Dignity Boutique team as needed to create safe spaces for single-mom clients to access clothing resources
2. Volunteer Management
- Work with Volunteer Manager to recruit and retain Hope Ambassador volunteers
- Plan and lead Hope Ambassador volunteer trainings
- Manage and provide ongoing feedback to volunteers
- In partnership with the Program Director, assess and mitigate client and volunteer risk
- Work with the Communications Manager to promote volunteer needs via all TSMKC communication channels, including website, social media, presentations, and e-newsletters
- Maintain volunteer information through data input via the VolunteerLocal platform and Neon CRM
3. Community Resource Partnerships
- In partnership with the Volunteer Coordinator, secure volunteers and team members for community resource events to establish/maintain strong community partnerships
- Coordinate event details with team members who will be on sight to ensure events are safe, effective, and welcoming
- Train volunteers who can represent The Single Mom KC at community events
4. Financial Planning + Management
- Administer the programming funds and monthly cash flow according to the approved budget while utilizing sound bookkeeping/accounting procedures
- Participate in fundraising activities as appropriate
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in related fields
- Three years experience in case management, program management, or social work fields
- Fluency in written and spoken Spanish
- Awareness of current community challenges and opportunities related to single-mother families
- Ability to use computers for word processing, financial management, email, and internet
- Strong interpersonal skills and organizational skills
- Strong conflict management skills
Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Three years experience in managing volunteers and teams
- Demonstration of strong leadership abilities, including leading a team and delegating effectively
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Experience working within a ministry is a plus
Hours: This is a full-time position. As job duties demand, evening and weekend work will be required (approximately 15% of the time). TSMKC offers flexible scheduling and a hybrid work setting.
Travel: Regular travel throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area to develop community resources.
Benefits: Full-time benefits include unlimited PTO, flexible scheduling, and a hybrid work setting. Health insurance is not available.
Salary: The salary range for this position is $40,000–$45,000 depending on education and experience.

Part-Time Position | 8–12 hours per month
Children’s Site Coordinator
Purpose of this role: To coordinate and oversee the implementation of the children’s program during Pursuit or TSMKC workshops. Each Pursuit location will have a Children’s Site Coordinator. Site Coordinators will oversee that consistency of logistics and program is maintained at their site and ensure that the mission and values of The Single Mom KC, as well as the mission of TSMKC children’s ministry, will be carried out at their site.
- Work with TSMKC Children’s Director to ensure that the children’s program is carried out
- Participate as a TSMKC children’s advisory team member, attending all meetings and trainings
- Connect with TSMKC Children’s Director for pre- and post-meetings for each event
- Have a working knowledge of the DREAM curriculum
- Work with the Pursuit program coordinator, mom program Pursuit site coordinator, and workshop coordinators to oversee all logistics, as needed
- Work with the host church staff to coordinate logistics for children’s ministry the evening of Pursuit
- Works with TSMKC Volunteer Coordinator to manage children’s volunteers for the event
- Oversee the children’s volunteers training on DREAM and general TSMKC guidelines for the event at the beginning of each Pursuit or workshop
- Oversee the set up and clean up of all rooms before and after each event
- Oversee that all safety procedures and TSMKC children’s policies are followed
- Provide feedback to TSMKC Children’s Director post event
- Experience working with children with special needs
- Strong leadership skills
- Good organizational skills
- Training in Trauma-Informed Care preferred
- Knowledge and experience in leading children’s ministry preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred
Starting pay: $15.00 per hour
Hours: Approximately 8 hours per month for Pursuit gatherings + 8 hours per workshop, which take place about 1–2 times a quarter
The Children’s Site Coordinator reports to the Children’s Director and Program Director.
